Okay so I've been working on this shirt that I got for $2.50 at a second hand store. Lets just say I've been working on it for awhile now. My inspiration came from a shirt I saw on Modcloth as you can see bellow!
* Isn't this shirt just adorable! What I really enjoyed was the belt and how it separated the shirt just a little bit.
* The back is what I loved the most! I loved how it opened up just a little bit and what was super adorable were the buttons on the back of the belt. (You can't see them in this picture but check it out on the website, http://www.modcloth.com/store/ModCloth/Womens/Tops/Short+Sleeve+/Executive+Assistant+Top
This is what it turned out to look like :)
| Before and very UGLY |
Okay I'm not going to lie I thought this shirt was ugly the minute I saw it on the rack. The only thing that saved it was its pattern which I couldn't help but think was adorable so of course I picked it up and started working on it!
1. Right away I chopped the sleeves off. My roommate and I really liked the end of the sleeves so I just cut them off and attached them to the top. It turned out super cute!
2. I made the V neck a little deeper but then ended up moving it down even further
I made a belt from the fabric I had down on the bottom of the shirt. I thought it looked adorable!
Here is the view of the whole front of the shirt! Can you believe that's the same shirt I started with?!?
Okay here's where I had the biggest issue. I really wanted to have an open back just like the modcloth shirt. It just wasn't as easy as I thought it would be. I think it turned out okay but next time I'll have to measure it more evenly. But hey we all learn from our mistakes. I added two black buttons to the back of the belt. Super cute!
Are you ready to see the finished product?!?
| TADA!!!!!!!! |
Here's how the back turned out wish it would have turned out a little better but it was a lesson well learned! I think it is still cute and I plan on still wearing it!
Check back tomorrow for something completely different :) Also check in to see how a couple dollars can still get you something pretty darn cute!
xoxo,
Georgetta
